Am I my brother's keeper?
Genesis 4:9. And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And
he said, I know not: am I my brother's keeper?
Numbers 6:23. Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye
shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, 24. The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: 25.
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26. The
Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
Psalm 91:11. For shall give his angels charge
over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in
their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13. Thou shalt tread
upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample
under feet.
Luke 10:29. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who
is my neighbour? 30. And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from
Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment,
and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31. And by chance there
came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on
the other side. 32. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came
and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. 33. But a certain Samaritan,
as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion
on him, 34. And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and
wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care
of him. 35. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and
gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever
thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36. Which now of
these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37. And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
Luke 15:20. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great
way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his
neck, and kissed him. 21. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned
against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy
son. 22. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and
put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 23. And
bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: 24.
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And
they began to be merry. 25. Now his elder son was in the field: and as he
came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. 26. And he
called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. 27. And he
said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted
calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. 28. And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore
came his father out, and intreated him. 29. And he answering said to his
father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any
time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make
merry with my friends: 30. But as soon as
this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou
hast killed for him the fatted calf.
In this FAMILY we all have the responsibility of "KEEPING" the children especially
the babies in captivity in the bottomless pit. We see (1) Father's responsibility
to "keep" us as our Parent. We also see (2) the angels of Heaven are responsible
as our heavenly brethren to keep us as we battle demons in the pit. The
next question is "What about US"? (3) What is our responsibility?
Cain asked the question to our Father-Judge when God inquired of him the
whereabouts of Abel. He asked, "Am I my brother's keeper"! The day is far
past and we are no longer ignorant about "What is man that thou art mindful
of him"! We KNOW all men are the sons and daughters of the Almighty not
mater what nation he is in, what language he speaks, or which false religion
he might partake of. All men are the sons and daughters of our Creator-Father,
Acts 17:24-28, 10:9-16,28, Matthew 23:9, Isaiah 45:9-11. The "pattern Son"
left us some instructions about the responsibility of each and every one of
us as a member of the household of God while we dwell in Satan's prison.
In the parable of the wounded man, a stranger on the side of the road, a rich
man learned that ANY MAN is his neighbor-brother. A man's nationality has
nothing to do with it. Jesus TOLD YOU AND
I, "Go and do likewise"! You can no longer split hairs to make a difference
between the words "neighbor" and "brother". The Door, Jesus, has "opened"that ALL MEN
are children of the Father. No man made doctrine using other scriptures
can shut that Door! Revelation 3:7-8. If a man is human, he is both your
neighbor and your brother according to the doctrine and leadership of Jesus
Christ. All real Christians "Follow me"!
Now we come to that sanctimonious "elder brother" who according to his own
words, "Never transgressed against his father at any time"? Men may justify
themselves but God weighs the spirit. This self-righteous "turkey"remembered his brothers sins
and recalled them to his father to justify his anger and meanness. Even
after his father entreated him to be reconciled
to his brother, he refused his father's wishes. He refused to enter the Door (Jesus) and
enjoy his Father's Restand
celebrate his brother's VICTORY OVER SIN AND THE GRAVE! When you refuse your
own father, is that a "transgression"? So much for his self-righteousness.
His behavior showed he had nothing but "filthy rags", Isaiah 64:6. This
idiot was not "his brother's keeper". If it were up to him, he would have
cast him back out into poverty and darkness where he was before. The "elder
son" churches and that mentality among many self-righteous Christians are
not "brother's keepers". If it were up to them they would cast all human
"sinners" out and burn them in the lake of fire with demons. Fortunately
that brutal mentality does not run the House of God nor does it have power
with God! Praise God!
To all brethren who prefer to be "brother's destroyers" rather than to be
"brother's keeper", Jesus has a message for you:
Luke 9:51. And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be
received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, 52. And sent messengers
before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans,
to make ready for him. 53. And they did not receive him, because his face
was as though he would go to Jerusalem. 54. And when his disciples James
and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come
down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55. But he turned,
and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not
what manner of spirit ye are of. 56. For the Son of man is not come
to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
The devil is managing the church doctrines
and the bizarre sense of justicein
the minds of all those who want to "destroy their brother" for his faults
rather than to "keep their brother" by forgiving him, reforming him, and caring
for him as they do their own "self"! You do not want God to destroy you
for your sins, do you? Do not teach such a lie against your brother no matter
what he may be actively doing as you read this. Here is another beattitude
Jesus taught us. WE MUST HAVE (LOVE or "charity") IN US to BE FORGIVENESS
(as he is) for all those caught in the very ACT OF SIN. NEVER throw stones
at any man. I do not care what others are doing! Don't YOU do it! You
say Christ is in you? Then I expect to see Jesus in YOUR ACTIONS toward
all those who post at KingdomTalk. I cannot see what you do toward those
you come in contact with everyday, BUT there is a "cloud of Witnesses" measuring
our spiritual growth, Hebrews 12:1. I tell you if you cannot follow the
doctrine of Jesus and show his attitude in your behavior, you are not fit
for the kingdom of heaven by a long shot. Neither God nor Christ wiill approve
your works and ways unless they exhibit the sweet savor of Christ, "This is my Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased!
Hear ye him!
Do not "make a man an offender for a word" just because you do not like his
post or you cannot understand it"!
Isaiah 29: 20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner
is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity
are cut off: 21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay asnare
for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of
nought.
Psalm 50:20 Thou sittest and speakest against
thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son. 21 These things hast
thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such
an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order
before thine eyes. 22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear
you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
Are YOU the salt of the earth? Then prove it at this message board!
Mark 9: 50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith
will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
I want all our visitors to discover Christ
is hereand to see that in all of us. It will be true when we all
act as mature children of God who DO FOLLOW THE LAMB in his ways and attitude!
Amen? Amen!
