The Dynamics of Salt
What is this business about salt? It is written, "Ye are the salt of the Earth" and "if the salt has lost its saltness, with what will you season it," Matthew 5:13. Every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Salt is good ... Have salt in yourselves and have peace one with another", Mark 9:49-50. Consider the word S -A -L- T. I see ALT -S, where "first shall be last". The syllable, ALT -, is a component part of ALTAR, which "changes" things by fire ... which is the WORD of God. SALT "changes" the flavor of the things it seasons.
Let us take a second look at the above scriptural quotes using our "opened" meaning of the allegorical word, SALT. God is telling His elect, "You are the "CHANGERS' of the Earth", chosen to alter (altar) man's behavior from bad to good. "If your WORDS OF CHANGE are void of goodness, with what will you season them?" since they must be tempered by kindness to turn away wrath (Proverbs 15:1); spoken in quietness for its wisdom to be effective (Ecclesiastes 9:17); and ordered by God to be successful (Psalm 37:23; I Corinthians 9:7; II Corinthians 10:3-5). Men are God's sacrificial sheep (Psalm 44:22, Romans 12:1) and "every man shall be salted with "WORDS OF CHANGE", for every knee shall bow and every soul shall confess His name, Revelation 15:4, 5:11-13. The WORD of wisdom which ALTERS men's lives is good ... Have those words as a part of you, and have peace one with another".
Contrasting the dynamics of salt upon the body of flesh and the Body of the Spirit, we find that too much salt can be a danger to the flesh of men. But for those living in the Spirit, there is never too much salt. For men with congestive heart disease and enlarged heart, normal salt intake may kill them. In the Spirit, enlarged heart only brings joy, Isaiah 60:5, II Corinthians 6:11. In the flesh salt raises the blood pressure and this increases the risk of strokes, nose bleeds, gastro -intestinal bleeding, and kidney damage. In the Spirit, the covenant of God is in the blood of Christ which saves. In the Spirit, the covenant of God is in the blood of Christ which saves. Its Most High pressure from His SALT convinces and converts for life! Isaiah 28:16-20, John 16:8-16. For those with kidney failure, dropsy, and certain forms of vascular disease, salt adds to the retention of body water complicating those conditions more. But in the Spirit, salt only increases our capacity to hold and retain the living water that comes down from heaven. Thus you have the dynamics and effects of salt upon the flesh and those in the spirit. What is dynamics? DYNA- is a prefix suggesting active POWER IN MOTION, and the suffix, -NAM is His name. So the DYNAMICS of SALT is a brief essay on the subject of how the Spirit moving in His name (ALTARS, ALTERS) "changes" us. Where it is written, "last shall be first" the reverse affect of SAL-T (T -SAL) from right to left is LAST- ing.
