Sons of Gold
Malachi 3:3: "And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness".
In the September 10, 1979 issue of Time on pages 58 and 59 is an article entitled: "Gold: Ordeal by fire and other tales" in the man and his gold series. This article was supplied by the Gold Information Center. I was impressed with what I read because the spirit turned everything into its spiritual meaning. My gold information center is God, the Maker of it. Most of God's gold resides in the treasure chambers of Heaven. They are the golden Hosts. Analyzing the word GOLD we find GOD (E)L. Thus the "refiner" or heavenly Teacher will purify the sons of Levi and purge them like gold. Another text I like is Isaiah 13:12: "I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir". Ophir is analyzed O (JUDGE or JUDGMENT, II Esdras 5:42) FEAR and wedge is horn shaped referring to power. So "golden wedge of Ophir" means that perfect man who fears God and has power with Him, Isaiah 27:5; Habakkuk 3:4. A man will have to do much to be like GOD (E)L in the qualities we will examine as "royal properties" or characteristics of gold. We will touch lightly upon the difference between the two royal metals, silver and gold to see why gold is the most precious of the two.
One property of gold is most impressive. From the article "gold...reflects infrared light (the part of the spectrum we sense as heat), but lets the visible part pass through". Because of this property it is useful on the fire-fighter's resistant suit and head-gear visor, as shielding on space craft and equipment, and in the energy war to cool large buildings in winter and retain inner heat in summer. It protects from the heat of the sun and from fire. Spiritually the Son is the Sun, and a son of gold reflects the Word of wrath, indignation, and woe relegating it to the principalities and powers of darkness to whom it is actually intended rather than man, Ephesians 6:12; Hebrews 4:12. But the visible spectrum, the Word of understanding and light, passes through or is transmitted without hindrance. As an example the three Hebrew boys were sons of gold in the parabolic and spiritual sense and were proven so in the fiery furnace. A son of GOD (E)L is an example of the promise "when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee," Isaiah 43:2. Because the golden rays of the sun is the light by which we see, it is appropriate that the thin sheet of gold on the fire fighter's head-gear not only protect the fireman's eyes, but transmit visible light for him to see when he must walk through fire. For a son of gold "The sun shall not smite thee by day," Psalm 121:6, as Jonah was smitten naturally, parabolically, and spiritually with reproof.
Gold readily conducts electricity with very low resistance to the electrical current. It is excellent for use in microcircuitry for that reason and because it resists corrosion and has excellent work ability. It is so ductile it can be drawn out in fine wire 1/1000th inch in thickness. An electrical current is "ELECT-TRY-CALL" words of power capable of moving and moving through those who do not resist the spirit. Elect spirits, or ELECT-TRY-CITY, are the ten thousands of saints () redeemed from the earth (Revelation 7:9,13-l5) who also have become kings and priests (Revelation 5:9-11). The man of gold does not resist ELEC-TRI-CALL power, the word from above dictating his motions. They are his Teachers, Psalm 91:10-11; Isaiah 30:19,21 and "the anointing" which leads him into all truth. Oxygen, a parabolic expression of the breath of life, does not corrode gold. The man of gold does not tarnish in it. Thus gold is excellent for solid state electronics and where thin wiring is needed which readily conducts electricity and resists corrosion.
Gold is useful in medicine. Intramuscular injections of gold salts in patients with rheumatoid arthritis has lead to a reduction of the painful symptoms in 1 out of 10 cases. Spiritually the "salt" of the man of gold can help sick "body members", who are pained and cannot make co-operative movements with other body members, "Have salt in themselves and have peace one with another", Mark 9:50. Gold foil placed on ulcers and other tissue wounds has been known to accelerate and promote healing which is otherwise tardy. Spiritually this means the covering and protecting words of love, comfort and justification of those spiritually wounded from the man of gold accelerate spiritual health among those whose "whole head is sick and body filled with putrifying sores", Isaiah 1:5-6. In dentistry gold is an excellent filling. One needs spiritual teeth in order to eat at God's table. One cannot eat well with a cavity. But perfect Words from GOD (E)L can fill every painful spot in our mouths and block out the offense.
Gold has a self -lubricating property and its low coefficient for friction makes it useful for lubrication of sliding and rolling surfaces in the vacuum environment of space where ordinary lubricants vaporize. This indicates that the man of GOD (E)L is able to move in, about, and around his brethren without friction and resistance. "Oil" is not suitable for this purpose in space. Scripturally oil is defined as corrective reproof, Psalm 141:5; II Timothy 3:16. How much space and distance is between us? When we have contact with one another "rolling and sliding past" by our communications, how much resistance and friction do we create deliberately or inadvertantly? I would desire to be a man of GOD (E)L, and if not that, at least to know one. God makes men more precious than the golden wedge of Ophir above as He redeems ten thousands of saints from this earth, Hebrews 12:22-24. It would be lovely if we could see golden proof, or care acts (characteristics), or "carats" of the Highest quality in us. I challenge you to become pure gold like GOD (E)L: (a) Isaiah 54:9-10, 57:16-19, (b) 58:6,9, 29:20,21, (c) Psalm 50:16,20-21. Those carats are of Most High quality. I shall look for them in the letters and literature you send to me. "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in fire that thou mayest be rich", Revelation 3:18. But you may think, "It is hard not to smite men with words, or point a printed finger, or speak against some of my sinful brethren". This golden mirror is before us to see if GOD (E)L is portrayed in our literature as He is to those we write. I have power to judge the saints (and so do you). How much more so your words and mine? Since we are really "jurors", the Judge shall be GOLDEN according to a, b, and c above if you and I disagree over the quality of your literature.
Silver is also a precious metal which conducts electricity. But it corrodes, tarnishes, and turns black upon prolonged exposure to its sulfur compounds in the air and loses its conducting power. Oxygen is an analogy for "God's breath of life". (Also a, b, and c mentioned previously is 100% pure oxygen). Because silver tarnishes, it must be constantly "oiled", Psalm 23:5, 141:5; Matthew 25:4, and "buffed" (Hebrews 12:6,11-15) or it will lose its luster and fail to reflect God's light. (Some of you have mailed me tarnished silver at times). Those who need constant reminders that God is the responsible party for all evil and the evil in men and not man himself, and that all men are beloved although cast as negative vessels in sinful roles, and those who find it too hard to speak, write or act lovingly and brotherly toward them, are like silver. I know this may rankle the imaginations of some of you, since it is personally directed to you but here is some gold filling for the cavity in your pen: (d) Deuteronomy 32:39, (e) Isaiah 43:28, 45:6-7, 47:6, (f) Amos 3:6. We have grown up on the "accuser's" bread and we are so used to accusing men of sins, we have been knocked unconscious by it and are unaware that such words are gaping holes in our spiritual teeth. It is painful to think, speak, and write in the atonement frame. It makes customary accusation, condemnation, and holding men responsible for sin gross errors outside of spiritual reality. But d, e and f is golden filler for the tooth that cannot chew on (g) Numbers 23:19-21, (h) Micah 6:5, (i) Isaiah 45:24-25, 54:17, and (j) Romans 5:16-19. "I find no fault in man" because a,b,c,d,e, and f have become my eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and pen. If it is too painful for you to agree with that, go see the Dentist. Let it be understood that d,e, and f is also 100% pure Oxygen. Hopefully your mind is not blackened in corrosion because I apply them realistically every day and in every way in my life. Silver is very precious, but it can become more precious by taking on a coat of gold... Psalm 68:13 "Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold".
Now take a tip from Me! "If any man asks you why churchy denominational preachers are loosed, tell them the Lord has need of them," Matthew 21:2-3. An ass is an unclean animal (preacher, Psalm 49:20) according to the law of Moses, and spiritually they constitute the tribe of Issachar (Genesis 49:14-15) to whom God did not grant the priesthood on earth. "But God hath shewed me that I should call no man common or unclean," Acts 10:28. "What God hath cleansed (via d, e, f, and those texts hard for a silver man to chew, g, h, i, and j) that call not thou common," Acts 10:15. Those are carrots, (care acts) or carats of gold from Acts.
Does Matthew 21:2-3, oxygen from Jesus, beat your ass? I say it is better to ride one like Jesus than to beat one like Balaam! "How shall ye know all parables?" Mark 4:13. "For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor (in spirit who are grossly deficient of the spirit of God and have become the sinners of men) to save him from those that condemn his soul," Psalm 109:31. And who is more wretched, naked, poor, and blind than the self-righteous and conceited preachers among us? (But if you are one of them, I am on your side). Yet in the Lord, by the Lord, and for the Lord shall they be justified (?... yes, justified!) in contrast to the condemnation some of our tarnished silver writings heep upon them. There is a decided difference in golden love and charity which covers their sins so they cannot be seen or "remembered", Isaiah 43:25, 44:21-22 and the tarnish on some of us who cannot preach justification in its finest points. Silver cannot "justify" sinning men in the very act as GOD (E) L for lack of a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i, and j. Could YOU "justify" one YOU caught in the very act of adultery? The one whom Jesus proclaimed as greater than himself, GOD (E)L, can!! His oracles speak His mind and justify them. But if you cannot, then chew on (g) Numbers 23:19-21, (h) Micah 6:5, (i) Isaiah 45:24-25, 54:17, and (j) Romans 5:16-19 on the side of your mouth where the cavity is not until it goes down easily when you swallow it! Hopefully this part of the "good news" is not bad news to you. Every text stands for it is impossible that the Word of God can be broken.

Gold: Ordeal by Fire and Other Tales
The flames shoot toward the sky. Suddenly a cry for help comes from their midst. Someone is trapped inside! A strangely suited form appears and begins to cut a swath into the very heart of the raging inferno. Where the figure's eyes should be is a golden panel. For a moment it disappears, then re-emerges, carrying a person to safety.
As incredible as this story may seem, it is not fantasy or idle dreaming. It's a real -life miracle. And gold makes it possible.
Gold makes a lot of other things possible in today's world, too. And gold is becoming increasingly important as man's technology expands and develops. In 1978 some 16% of all the gold produced was used by industry in applications that ranged all the way from dentistry to microelectronics. Next year, the figure is expected to increase as gold finds new and wider uses.
Gold's unique combination of qualities is what makes it so useful and versatile. Characteristics like its remarkable workability, its ability to withstand corrosion, its excellent conductivity for electric current, its unusual optical properties, its self-lubricating ability, and others, make it an ideal material for many applications.
In the case of the firefighter's mask mentioned above, an almost invisibly thin film of gold in the faceplate reflects infrared light (the part of the spectrum we sense as heat), but lets the visible part pass through. This protects the firefighter's face from the burning heat while letting him see clearly. He can literally walk right into the heart of the blaze and see precisely where he's going.
Gold's exceptional ability to block infrared rays has become even more important because of the energy crisis. With fuel costs rising, air-conditioning is rapidly becoming more and more expensive, especially in the many large buildings that have a great deal of wall space devoted to windows. Ordinary glass windows are notoriously inefficient at keeping the sun's heat out of buildings during the summer. But a thin film of gold can change all that. Applied over the whole window, it will reflect up to 90% of the heat and glare of the sun, making it easier to cool the interior and substantially cutting air conditioning costs during the hot months. It also reduces heating costs in winter by reflecting heat back into rooms. At present, some 200 American office buildings are using gold in an effort to save energy.
Gold's workability and its ability to resist corrosion make it highly useful in dentistry. Gold, usually mixed with other metals, is an ideal material for the creation of virtually indestructible fillings. Alloys containing gold are an equally good choice, for exactly the same reasons, for the construction of orthodontic devices. Many are the beautiful smiles that have gotten that way thanks to gold!
Gold has also proven beneficial in medicine. The modern solid -state electronics industry is one of the largest users of gold in America today. Solid-state devices like the pocket calculator employ very low voltages and currents. For this reason, it is critically important that circuits, connectors, and contact points have low resistance to electrical current and remain free from any tarnishing film that might interrupt the flow. Gold won't corrode or oxidize and thus remains both chemically and metallurgically stable over the life of a device. It also is highly conductive. In addition, because gold is so ductile, it can be drawn into wires as thin as one one-thousandth of an inch for use in microcircuitry. One expert estimates that more than 10 billion tiny electrical contacts are made with gold every year!
Nowadays, gold's usefulness isn't limited to Earth. As man has left his planet to explore outer space and the solar system, gold has journeyed with him. The first American to walk in space was attached to his spacecraft by an umbilical cord coated with gold to protect it from the sun. As a high energy radiation shield, gold goes on space suits, capsules, rocket engines, helmets, visors, and tether lines to protect men and equipment from the heat of the sun, rocket blasts, and reentry.
